My Story
After my son died unexpectedly, reading and hearing the stories of mothers who suffered similar losses brought healing and comfort. Often, when I shared about my son’s death, I was surprised how it deepened connections in my relationships, despite my feeling like a failure as a mom. Being vulnerable and transparent about my loss encouraged others to share more deeply and authentically. Women who heard my story encouraged me to write and share it, planting the seed for Calm Mama Bear.
May these stories and resources bring hope, healing, and deeper connections to Christ and help you connect calmly and compassionately to your family and community, even in the midst of life’s challenges.
CALM strategies
Being calm during life’s challenges is hard. My hope is to share ways that we can connect calmly and compassionately in those tough moments and on ordinary days too.
While we process our pain with Christ and in community, God can use our challenging moments to transform our character and connect deeply to others in more ways than we could imagine.

BEAR each other’s burdens
Mama bears protect the vulnerable, seek justice, and speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. We “bear” each other’s burdens when we take initiative to help others lighten their load. I hope these resources will help you shine the light of love and justice in a spirit of gentleness, respect, truth, and grace.
